December Parade

( Sing ) You better watch out, You better not cry,
            Better not pout, I'm telling you why
            Santa Claus is Coming to Town ....

At the first evening in December, under the sunny, bright, hot weather which is rare in rainy season, for the first time I saw Christmas parade by Palangka Raya Youth community. Unlike Palangka or Manado or eastern part of Indonesia, my hometown in Java have not much Christian people so that this kind of parade never been held. Although I was little bit late and missed out a half of participants, but still that parade was cool. My biggest impression was the enthusiasm of the youth to participated in that parade. If you ever been here (Kalimantan), you might already known how the weather is in the sunny day.

Like every parade, all of the participants wear a costume and the accessories that describe Christmas atmosphere. Maybe Santa Claus hat was the popular item in the parade because most of the participant and the viewer wore that hat. Besides Santa Claus hat, there were also Maria and Joseph costume, the angel, Santa Claus in complete dress and beard, Black Pete, and even the Christ mas present. Not only wearing costume, they also showed many kind of performance and creativity like marching band, band and solo performance, made Christmas banner and decorated car. For band and solo performance, there was a big stage at the finish place. After all of the parade participant arrived at finish line, there were be goblets waiting for three best performer. At night, the Palangka raya Christian Youth Community continued their Christmas celebration by holding great service (I give them applause for their passion).






















The youth successfully made me realize that Christmas day have started to get closer.... Neither dress nor Christmas tree that must be prepared but the honest heart to welcome His coming. Lets get busy preparing ^_^.
