From Reference Letter to Grilled Lais

This post is about funny conversation between me and one of my lecturer in bachelor degree. It was happen several days ago. At that times (until now) I was on my thick face mode because of my will to get something for free (but there is nothing free in this world except the oxygen coz I must do a lot of thing to get that free stuff). One thing that I must do is collecting recommendation letter as much as I can.
I made a short list of the referees and one of them is this Prof F (not the initial name). Honestly, I didn't close to him when I was in college but I ever had conversation with him once in the rainy evening. That conversation just took one and half hours but that meant a lot to me ( He finally recognized me and for several times later he offered me some job but I couldn't do that coz I already have my current job).
I got his email address a couple weeks ago but I was hesitate to sent an email to him. I wondered if he still remember me or not. Finally, I encouraged my self to send an email to him.

My email (I just write the summary):
Dear Prof F, I am Yohana .................... If you don't mind I would like to ask you to become my referee for....... Thank you very much for your attention.......

And the reply came fast (less than one day):
Dear Yohana, You can come to my office at Thursday ......

My reply (directly sending after received his email)
Thank you for your quick reply but I am still in Palangkaraya ( I mentioned my current job ). Can I send the reference form by email?

Second fast reply
Okay then, you can send that form to me. Anyway, when you come back to Bogor, please buy grilled lais (lais = local name of fresh water fish) for me. The one from Palangkaraya have a greath taste.

Grilled Lais

I read this email and thought for a while...the topic suddenly changed into grilled fish.

My second reply :
Okay, prof. I will bring grilled lais when I come to Bogor. Which restaurant do you mean? The one in big market named 'Dahlia' or the one named 'Samba'.

From my local knowledge after almost one year live in Palangka, I know those two place have good taste of grilled fish.

His third reply (as fast as the first and second)
I think the one in big market called Dahlia.

That was the end of my conversation with him after almost one year. Please, any of you...remain me later when I said I want to go Bogor. Don't forget to bring grilled lais for Prof. I just realized I have many kindness lecturers, friend, seniors, junior and colleagues that make my journey become colorful.

(To be continue to other post....)
