Touring to Banjarmasin (exciting and hurting in the same time)

Holla,
This post is about my latest sudden plan to Banjarmasin by motor at Vesak holiday (May 5th). This sudden plan became more challenging because I did that by motorcycle, yup for the first time I did touring across province and time zone . This idea came out from my senior that had other business in Banjarmasin. 'That business' was look like investigation thing so my senior thought that motor was better than car for that matter. Because I really really want to go to Banjarmasin because simple reason, I never play there before, I agreed with that idea. And then the show went on with two destination Banjarmasin-Martapura.
Soto Bang Amat (doc: google)

I never have image what the touring for more than a half day looks like. I just knew that what I should do just sit on that motor. But, after 2 hours, I felt something that bother me much, my bud gradually got hurt. Sitting in long period of time on motorcycle never became as comfort as sitting on sofa or car seat (or maybe just in my chase because I easily get problem with my but, poor me). Apart from that, I like touring because I can enjoy the scenery better, feel the wind blow, get sun burn (I bet foreigner want it so badly), even become dirty because of dust from non-paved road. Thank for my camera, I could capture all of that experiences.
In chase of Banjarmasin, I agreed if using motor is better than car, because in my opinion, this city have many small streets and hundred wooden bridges, and in the weekend, there are traffic jam in downtown. If we used car at that time, just searched for parking lot would spent much time for us. Besides that, I like to memorize the way that I have passed before, going around by motor always help me to memorize better than by car. Maybe next time when I want to do touring again, I must prepare pillow for my bud and everything will be okay.
My impression of Banjarmasin was the bridge, this city have lot of bridge from small to huge bridge. At the first time, passing the bridge would made me to get disorientation (thank for google maps which help me got out from disorientation problem). if you search this city in google map, you will understand why this city have a lot of bridge, yup there are many river that pass over this city. Until now, all of the river are use for transportation especially for coal and wood transportation from upstream to the harbor in the downstream. How about floating market? Honestly, I waken up late to see floating market in the morning. So maybe someday I will go to see that famous floating market. Other impression was, pilgrimage tourism, I thought that favorite tourism in Banjar is pilgrimage because I found several places around the city like cemetery of important religious figure that crowded with visitor.
Of course, I didn't forget to taste Banjar cuisines like 'soto banjar', nasi kuning/uduk, ketupat kandangan, and sop buntut. I found one nice place to eat soto banjar, named "Soto Banjar Bang Amat". At that place, you can watch live performance of traditional music while you eat (sound nice ?). Although I wasn't in Sumedang or West Java, I still can find the great tahu sumedang in Kalimantan. Even in here, tahu sumedang also have many of fans (suddenly I curious about how far  the expansion of tahu sumedang).
My furthest destination was Martapura. For many times, I have heard from my acquaintances that this town is famous of its beads and stone for jewelry like ring, necklace, bracelet, or for bag and brittle. I don't like to wear jewelry (even simple earring) but in contrary my mum love that so much. From Banjarmasin to Martapura by motor, we took 2 hours because we should did some work in Banjarbaru first.
I went to Martapura jewelry market and spent more than two hours to pick souvenir. You know something that you must have in chase of shopping? Bargain skill, and my skill isn't good and shopping isn't my hobby. So after took one round and screening the items that sold  in some shop, I just stayed in one of those shop and bought all of my souvenir there. But still, I got 12 items for IDR 250000 plus one item for free (not bad for me).
So, want to try touring experience like I did? ( You never know till you tried, ^_*).
