Caution for us : 'Don't try to destruct the nature if you don't know how to make it like before'
Lets we think about this question...I mean we must think it seriously, do you think planting is easy? I am not talking about putting the seedling in soil, watering, and leaving after we pray for it to grow by itself. Planting is not only about putting the seedling in soil, there are many steps that you must follow if you want to really do plant. I will make it simple, planting is the activity that start from preparing the seedling, planting the seedling, watering, nursing, and monitoring its growth.

Burned Area |
Okay, I don't mean to give you the lecture about planting because I am not capable in that area. That is just the preface for this post. What I want to share is my last trip before I moved out from Central Kalimantan. The purpose of my trip was to prepare planting block in burned area at Sebangau NP. Before, I just knew how to make the planting blocks in my computer and gave it to my colleague who did the survey and made that block plan to become real. I thought, that would be silly for me if I never involved directly in the field. So, with full of energy and passion, I joined my colleagues to prepare the planting block in peat land.

The last highest tree |
We made the blocks together with the villagers from nearest village. That is important to involve them in conservation activity because no matter what, they are the closest people that directly connected to that place. Also, through that participation, we can encourage their awareness for environmental conservation. We needed two days to mark the border of planting block because almost a half of the area already became villagers fish pond. The area was burned in 1997 after suffered a massive logging and until now it become abandoned land which regularly burned on dry season. Can you imagine? There were a lot of big trees there but now, as you can see only shrubs and burnt stumps. It's not the worst place, we have many like that and many that worse than that.

Took a break |
Every single experience is the best teacher for me. Even I got burnt, and scars from this experience but that weren't really matter for me. I could learnt more to respect the nature, and I tried to do something small for the environment. We are rich because our natural resources but we must care about its sustainability.
